Grading Achievement

On Friday 13th December, seven members were promoted to their respective grades taking a significant step forward in their Taekwondo journey. The grading event was held by examiners Miss Lorena Garcia (4th Dan) and Master Edward Garcia (7th Dan), who brought their wealth of experience and knowledge to ensure a fair and thorough evaluation process.

The grading included but was not limited to:

  • Poomsae - A series of predefined movements and stances performed to demonstrate technique, balance, and understanding of the martial art.

  • Sparring: A demonstration of controlled combat, showcasing a practitioner’s ability to apply Taekwondo techniques in a dynamic setting.

  • Self-Defense: The ability to apply Taekwondo techniques to defend against an opponent in various scenarios including wrist and collar grabs.

  • Kicking Techniques: An essential aspect of Taekwondo, candidates were tested on their ability to execute a range of powerful, precise kicks such as front kicks, roundhouse kicks, sidekicks, and spinning kicks, etc. These kicks were evaluated for both technique and speed.

A massive thank you goes out to coaches Megan Ruiz (2nd Dan) and Lorena Garcia (4th Dan) for their invaluable support leading up to the grading. In the weeks leading up to the event, they went above and beyond to provide additional training sessions to help members refine their techniques and prepare thoroughly for the grading. These extra sessions were crucial in building the confidence and skill levels of the students, ensuring they were fully prepared for the challenges of the grading.

As the year draws to a close, the Taekwondo grading event on Friday 13th December marked a significant milestone in the journey of these seven individuals. Their promotion to the next grade is a reminder of the importance of hard work, perseverance, and continuous self-improvement.

Congratulations to all the candidates who were promoted – your dedication has paid off, and this is just the beginning of an exciting journey ahead!
